The original trio of Sukkot artwork was designed in 2020, amidst quarantines and lockdowns. At the time, I wanted to bring color and joy to my sukkah, and to all of yours, to take part in the mitzvah of "ושמחת בחגך," a joy that overcame even a pandemic.
During a year like this, it is almost unfathomable to think of celebrating such a holiday, one of whose commandments is to rejoice. I chose to bring back this series this year, as a reminder of the joy that can be found even in the most difficult times. I hope that through beautifying the mitzvah of Sukkot, these pieces might serve as a prayer that we feel beauty and joy this coming year, even through hardship, and that we will be able to experience a time, very very soon, of joy that is strong enough to overcome anything.
So - let's hope that by this year's Sukkot holiday, our hostages and our soldiers will have long ago returned home to their families, and that we will only know days of peace, unity and true joy. Chag Sameach ❤️
